Important Dates:
September 28 - Staff meeting at 10:30, Dearmanville DDD 3:00
October 5 - Specialist PLT beings - every Monday - according to Ann Jolly - time limit 1 hr
In our Placemat consensus session with Shelly Hollis - 5 E Lessons should be your topic.
We will receive PD concerning using technology in lessons from Eric. We will spread the topics out over the course of the year.
We will receive PD concerning Differentiated Instruction from Tonya Anthony.
How to integrate the technology and differentiated instruction into your lessons which are now 5 E lessons is the purpose of the PLT . Professional growth.
October 12, AM PD with Eric on the Interwrite Pad. 8:00 - 10:30
Ideally, individuals with laptops (and/or Interwrite tablet) should bring those to the session. I have found that training on this topic works best when each person has their tablet in front of them or, at the very least, the software installed on their laptop. For those not having the Interwrite Workspace and Interwrite Content software CDs, they can download fthe latest free copies and install prior to the workshop by following this link: http://www.einstruction.com/support_downloads/downloads.html
Also, everyone with a tablet should remember to fully charge the tablet (make sure the stylus is correctly placed in its cradle) the day before the workshop. There is also a Bluetooth adapter included with the tablet. They should bring this to the session as well.
Eric
Also on October 12, Polly, Sandra, Mary and Tanya - will probably have to attend another meeting concerning accrediation for the InService Center. 10:30 - 12:00
*****October 22 - all day -HOLD open for PD with Tonya Anthony - she has recieved permission to conduct a PD for us - (Tonya changed from Oct 21 to Oct 22)
ASAP
I have placed forms on Google Docs that you may find helpful when beginning planning with ASAP schools. Probably good to use with Walnut Park for any teacher that you have not had a one on one planning session or do not have a lesson planned yet.
I've made copies for you and placed them in a folder on your desk.
I've also placed them on the "G" drive in a folder - JSU AMSTI Forms. That is also where you will find the folder of Specialists forms. Helpful to keep all forms in one location on the G drive.
Very Important-Remember: You should make an ASAP schedule that list all teachers at the school and when you acclimate, Model, Co Teach and Solo with the teacher. Math specialist made one and it is on the G drive in a folder called ASAP schools. I looked at it and it will work. You can make a schedule like USA did or you can use the form on the G drive. Remember, I need a copy of that schedule. You can give it to me at the conclusion of the ASAP for that school that way you can make any changes you need to make because I'm sure once it is made it is NOT set in stone.
Also, all lessons taught at a school (ASAP or otherwsie) - the lesson plan should be filed in the schools Data Notebook. And lessons saved to the lesson plan folder on the G drive.

Staff Meeting Monday, 10:30
Student workers from Jacksonville High School began working on Thursday. There are 6 student workers. They stickered books. They will work once a week for approximately 1 hour.
Walnut Park is requesting Slime Lady Carol and Blood Lady Sandra to help with the Fall Festival October 23, 1:00 - 4:00.
Miranda Young from JSU/Gadsden would like a speaker in her class the 1st or 2nd Monday in Novemeber. The class meets in Gadsden and it is a math class. I thought Mary would be the perfect candidate for that speaking engagement. Let me know.
The AMSTI SDE has asked me to write a grant that is due September 30 so I will be working on that as well as working on school data.
Saks Middle School, October 29, AMSTI night 6 - 8 is requesting help. They have also contacted ASIM to give presentation. Ms. Bishop is the contact person.
